Common questions
How does the inactivity timer work?
You choose an inactivity period — 3, 6, or 9 months. OnwardSafe monitors your activity. If you go silent beyond that period, the check-in process begins automatically.
What triggers the dead man's switch?
Inactivity beyond your chosen period triggers the switch. OnwardSafe sends check-in notifications via email, SMS, and WhatsApp. If you don't respond, guardians are notified for consensus before any vault release.
What if my guardian cannot be reached?
We recommend setting 3 guardians. The system requires 2-of-3 to confirm. If fewer than 2 respond, the vault is not released and the process is paused for manual review.
